A bit about Mrs. Ciocca
Welcome to Arbor Heights Elementary School and Room 124!
I am so excited to begin my first year at Arbor Heights Elementary! My goals as a teacher are to foster a love of learning in all students while also developing a community focused on compassion and individuality. By the end of the year I want all my students to leave my classroom as strong and eager readers, writers, mathematicians, scientistic, engineers, tech-savs, problem solvers and life-long learners. Let's take on the world together!
As a teacher I have a love for literacy. It is one of my favorite things to see how much kindergarten students grow in reading! However, at Arbor Heights, I feel privileged to be able to expand my skills as a teacher through the fields of eSTEM. It is so fun to learn right along with the students as you explore various topics of interest each year. Never does a project go in the same direction!
Before joining the Arbor Heights community, I was a kindergarten teacher at STEM K-8.I also have experience teaching at a private Montessori preschool. From there, graduate school was calling my name to get my Masters in Teaching at the University of Washington, which led me to teaching a 2/3 multi-age classroom in Seattle Public Schools. Post-graduate, I worked in various elementary grade levels as a substitute teacher in Bellevue School District before landing back in Seattle, where I am now.
When I am not at school, I enjoy reading, playing soccer, cooking, and exploring Seattle (especially restaurants) with my husband, Tony. Tony and I just have been married for a year and are loving our new life adventure together!
